Click on the server you want to use to synchronize your PC's time.

List of locations

The location of the server, if known.

List of protocols

The protocol the server uses.

Using SNTP, Dimension 4 will be able to synchronize your PC's time within 0.05 seconds of the server's time.

Using Time (either tcp or udp), Dimension 4 will be able to synchronize your PC's time within 1 second of the server's time.

Server field

The name of the server used to synchronize your PC's time.

Location field

The location of the server, if known.

Add button

Add a server to the list. When you're done filling out the server name, location, and protocol, press OK to accept the changes, or Cancel to abort the addition.

Edit button

Edit the currently selected server in the server list. When you're done editing the server name, location, and protocol, press OK to accept the changes, or Cancel to abort the modification

Remove button

Remove the currently selected server from the server list. When you're done removing servers from the list, press OK to accept the changes, or Cancel to abort the deletion.

Use Dial-up Networking AutoDial (if available)

Connects to the Internet using the Dial-Up Networking connection you specified in Control Panel/Internet. A prompt is displayed when Dimension 4 starts, asking you to log on so your time can be adjusted.

If this option is not checked, when Dimension 4 starts it tries to access the Internet without displaying the prompt to log in. If you're already logged on, Dimension 4 synchronizes your PC's time. If you're not logged on, Dimension 4 waits a few seconds and tries again. Using this method, you can put Dimension 4 in your Startup group, and your PC's time will automatically be adjusted whenever you log onto the Internet.

How often - Once

After Dimension 4 synchronizes your PC's time, it will exit.

How often - Every xx

Synchronize your PC's time at regular intervals.

Maximum Correction

Dimension 4 will warn you when it tries to adjust your PC's time by more than the specified value.

Run - Hidden

Hide Dimension 4 on startup or when you press OK.
To bring the Dimension 4 dialog back up, right click on the Dimension 4 icon on the task bar. Then select Open.

Run - Minimized

Minimize Dimension 4 on startup or when you press OK.

OK button

Save all the changes you've made and initiate time synchronization.

Cancel button

Cancel all the changes since the last OK, and stop time synchronization.

Help button

Display this help file.

About button

Display the Dimension 4 about box.

Exit button

Save all the changes you've made, and exit the program.

Advanced button

Displays the advanced settings dialog box.

Synchronized

Indicates when Dimension 4 last synchronized your PC's time.
If you want to change the style of the date and time, go to the Date/Time tabs in Regional Settings in the Control Panel.

Timeout after ## seconds

Timeout after the specified number of seconds.

On error, retry every ## seconds

When Dimension 4 experiences a problem synchronizing your PC's clock, it will try again after the specified number of seconds.

Display errors

When Dimension 4 experiences a problem synchronizing your PC's clock, it will tell you about the problem. Even if this option is checked, Dimension 4 will only tell you about problems when you have initiated the synchronization.

Display synchronization

When Dimension 4 synchronizes your PC's clock, you will be notified. Even if this option is checked, Dimension 4 will only tell you about problems when you have initiated the synchronization.
